My Memory Shoes
I have to share this most heart-warming story about a very special little girl named Kallie. For her
upcoming fifth birthday, Kallie's parents provided me with seven pairs of Kallie's most favorite shoes
that she has worn since she was born. Each pair has a significant meaning.
Her tap shoes still bear the sticker Kallie received for recognition. The ballet shoes are in Kallie's
very favorite color of pink. She wore her Dora shoes every single day until her feet grew too big for
them. She was so sad when they would not fit any more. Flip-flops worn in the summer sun still have
all their beads, even though some have faded in the bright sunshine.
These are seven pairs of Kallie's favorite shoes. Seven pairs because Ralphina, the Roly-Poly has
fourteen legs!
When the illustration was complete - with Kallie's first and middle name on the ballet shoe along
with the year of her fifth birthday, I emailed a photo for approval to Kallie's mommy. In turn, Kallie's
mommy forwarded it to her own mother and grandmother. Grandmother has dementia and lives with
mother. When Kallie's great-grandma saw the photo of Ralphina wearing Kallie's shoes, she
became so excited! She actually remembered Kallie wearing these most special memory shoes!!!
I cried when this story was shared with me. What a tremendous and powerful effect this had
on this family, and on me! This work of art and the memories it has created will be in Kallie's family
always, passed from generation to generation.

Summer Swimming Memories
This is another custom creation for Kallie. Her name and the year are included on the blue trim of the polka-dot
swim-suit - Kallie especially loves that I included the belt that was on the bottom of this suit. These five suits were
created by replicating the design of the material. The gathering on the striped swimsuit, along with the ruffle, help
remind Kallie and her family of this treasured summer memory.
There is definitely a theme with the pink on every suit! I chose to incorporate Bleeding Heart flowers because of Kallie's
love for pink! Plus, the hearts remind me of this most special little girl's soul. She is always smiling and has a heart that
is genuinely sweet. Ralphina is wearing a top and a top and a top and a top and a bottom! It's fun to be a roly-poly!

All I need is a colorful and sharp photograph of the front of your own house. The flowers in the garden where the
roly-polies wait can be created in colors to match your child's room, or they can remain exactly as they are.
This is also a wonderful way for your child to learn the number address of where they live! Simply let me know the house
number and I will include that in the illustration as well!
My fee is $35.00 per hour. This creation took me 10 hours. Time may vary slightly depending upon the detail of the house.
